Did you know that mangrove forests are among the most effective natural systems for absorbing and storing carbon dioxide? They also serve as natural barriers against storm surges and coastal erosion, providing critical protection to vulnerable communities!
To support these blue heroes, Energy Academy Indonesia (ECADIN), in collaboration with Lindungi Hutan, Astra International, PT QSI, Paragon, and Byoliving, planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings on January 18, 2025, in Sukawali Village, Tangerang, Indonesia. This initiative was part of an effort to offset the carbon emissions generated by the International Conference of Integrated Intellectual Community (ICONIC), held in Germany last year.

This collaborative effort highlights the importance of preserving mangrove ecosystems—not only for their ability to mitigate climate change but also for their crucial role in protecting coastal communities and fostering biodiversity. Together, we can work towards a healthier ecosystem and a greener, more resilient future!
