Jakarta, Indonesia – The Anugerah Dewan Energi Nasional (DEN) 2024 was officially launched on December 10 at the Jakarta Convention Center. The event, themed “Energy Policies for Supporting Energy Resilience and Independence“ brought together stakeholders from the energy sector, including regional governments, academicians, energy companies, and ministry officials. This award ceremony acknowledges the significant achievements in energy management at the regional level, with a focus on renewable energy and energy transition efforts that contribute to Indonesia’s national energy goals.
In his opening remarks, Joko Siswanto, Secretary General of DEN, highlighted the importance of the award in recognizing local governments that have met or exceeded targets in renewable energy adoption, particularly those that have achieved energy mix goals for new and renewable energy (EBT). He also expressed hopes that the event would inspire regions that have not yet reached their renewable energy targets to learn from successful examples.
Bambang Patijaya, Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Commission XII, emphasized the critical role of national energy policies in supporting energy independence and national security. He also linked these efforts to Indonesia’s broader strategic goals outlined by President Prabowo Subianto, focusing on energy self-sufficiency and sustainable economic development. The awards seek to motivate further progress toward a green energy future and help Indonesia achieve its net-zero emissions target by 2060 or sooner.
