Vice President / Manager – Group Sustainability, Sustainable Finance Business Development

Job Description

The incumbent will manage the sustainable finance practice of CIMB Group, aligning with the Group’s vision to be a Sustainability leader in ASEAN. The role involves overseeing sustainable finance business development across the ASEAN region and collaborating with senior employees from various banking divisions to meet CIMB’s sustainable finance objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the business development and expansion of Green, Social & Sustainable Impact Products & Services (GSSIPS). Collaborate with relevant units to maximize positive impacts and support the Group’s Net Zero 2050 ambition.
• Identify opportunities in climate finance, power/renewables, transportation, and financial inclusion, and develop strategies to capture these opportunities.
• Grow the sustainable finance portfolio by developing sustainability-related products, services, and propositions.
• Act as a Sustainability specialist in client engagements, negotiate sustainability metrics, and develop documentation for products.
• Support innovation in sustainable finance across the Group by identifying opportunities related to blended finance and carbon markets.
• Serve as an expert on sustainability regulations and practices, keeping stakeholders informed of important developments.
• Upskill Relationship Managers and teams on sustainability concepts and establish a culture of sustainability across all units.
• Manage CIMB’s Sustainability Bond and Sukuk Framework and oversee sustainability elements of the Group’s instruments.
• Support the Head of Sustainable Finance Business Development in representing the Group at various industry events and engagements.

Job Requirements

• Degree from a recognized University; a qualification in Sustainability or Sustainable Finance is advantageous.
• 5-10 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in a sustainability role, preferably in sustainable financing or ESG advisory.
• Understanding of Banking products and services in both corporate and retail segments.
• Technical knowledge or strong passion for sustainable finance products currently offered in the market.
• Experience in collaboration across multiple teams and business units.
• Able to manage projects effectively and prioritize multiple demands.
• Strong networking skills, both internally and externally.
