Job Description

As the Sustainability Manager, I will oversee the Sustainability function, ensuring compliance with Sustainability Guidelines and implementation of the resort-specific Sustainability Action Plan. My role includes coordinating all Sustainability programs and related training with Human Resources and relevant departments.

  • Ensure that each Sustainability initiative reaches its fullest potential for both hosts and guests.
  • Safeguard the pillar of Sustainability, ensuring all brand initiatives are embraced and implemented within the hotel.
  • Manage the Sustainability Fund monthly, ensuring effective collection and distribution of funds, along with documentation of supported projects.
  • Develop relationships with key community organizations, such as schools and local government departments.
  • Engage with the local community regularly through Sustainability Fund projects and fun educational activities.
  • Develop and lead engaging sustainable host events monthly to foster a culture of sustainability among the team.
  • Connect the hotel with globally recognized sustainability events and initiatives for guests and hosts.
  • Manage existing sustainability partnerships and seek opportunities for new collaborations.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships to receive Sustainability Fund and in-kind support based on guidance from the General Manager.
  • Work with the Experiences team to create Sustainability-related guest experiences showcasing hotel efforts and local culture.
  • Implement suitable sustainability practices aligned with Six Senses policies.
  • Establish and deliver financial returns related to revenue generation and implied profitability.
  • Ensure operations comply with all necessary legal, statutory, and financial requirements.

Qualifications

To qualify for the role of Sustainability Manager, I must have a bachelor’s degree in environmental management, Sustainability, or a related field, along with technical skills and at least four years of experience in a sustainability-related hospitality role with proven results. Fluency in English is also required.
