Job Description

The role involves searching for new clients who could benefit from the company’s products while maintaining existing customer relationships. The focus will be on selling products related to the palm oil, edible oil, starch industry, and other renewable resources. The candidate is expected to build and maintain long-term business relationships at all levels through effective sales strategies, provide an overview of the GEA Group’s product portfolio, and interpret customer requirements across various industries. Additionally, the candidate will support after-sales business by selling contract preventive maintenance packages.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Searching for new clients and maintaining existing relationships with a strong focus on the palm oil and starch industries.
    • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients through appropriate sales strategies.
    • Providing general knowledge of the complete product portfolio of GEA Group.
    • Interpreting customer requirements in various industries.
    • Supporting after-sales business with preventive maintenance contracts.
  • Traveling to visit potential clients (up to 50% of the time).
    • Actively engaging with potential clients rather than working in an office environment.
    • Visiting clients in Indonesia for product training and attending trade shows or sales meetings abroad.
  • Persuading clients of the product’s benefits.
  • Creating and delivering technical presentations demonstrating product suitability.
  • Preparing sales proposals, contracts, and negotiating terms with the legal team.
  • Gathering market intelligence to build pipelines for new projects.
  • Updating client accounts and sales data in CRM systems.
  • Meeting sales targets:
    • Financial KPIs: Order intake, Gross Margin, Topline Growth.
    • Non-financial KPIs: Client visits, Quotations, Calls, Cross-selling GEA products.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives by attending trade shows, conferences, and other events.
  • Collaborating with back-office sales support and other departments for timely product/service delivery.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of B2B sales experience in industrial equipment/machinery within the Food & Beverage markets, especially in palm oil and the starch industry.
  • Possessing a hunter mindset with strong prospecting skills.
  • A diverse and extensive network within the industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a capacity to work in teams.
  • Excellent Business English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Outgoing, confident, and positive attitude with a willingness to approach the Indonesian market actively.
