The role involves developing and managing environmental policies and sustainability strategies within Sembcorp’s global operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing the collection and reporting of environmental data, ensuring timely reporting for sustainability assessments, conducting internal data reviews, as well as data analysis and benchmarking for value creation and sustainability goals. The position also emphasizes driving digitalization in environmental data management, collaborating across teams to enhance sustainability programs, and providing training on related topics.

Responsibilities:
- Develop environmental related policies, standards and guidelines in support of sustainability strategy for implementation in Markets.
- Oversee the collection, monitoring and reporting of environmental data using cloud-based data management platform across Sembcorp’s global operations.
- Responsible to manage and deliver accurate and timely reporting of environmental data for Sembcorp’s annual sustainability report, raters (i.e. CDP) and external stakeholders as required, in accordance with international standards and frameworks (i.e. GRI, GHG Protocol, ISSB, etc.).
- Conduct internal data review and liaise with external auditors on data assurance and timely closure of reporting gaps.
- Perform data analysis, develop benchmarking, translate environmental data to value-creation use cases and share best practices to support Sembcorp’s sustainability goals.
- Drive digitalization of environmental data collection and reporting program.
- Collaborate with markets and cross functional teams to establish sustainability priority and understanding, and ensure proper execution of group wide sustainability programs to reduce carbon footprints and climate risks.
- Provide training, build capability and support Markets on relevant environmental sustainability topics and initiatives (i.e. sustainability reporting, environmental and social screening, physical risks assessment, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability and engineering discipline.
- Experience: At least 6 years’ experience in sustainability, energy and sustainability related works.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles and frameworks (i.e. GRI, TCFD, ISSB, SASB, CDP, etc.).
- Knowledgeable in GHG accounting, quantification and verification (i.e. GHG Protocol, ISO 14064.3, The Climate Registry and/or other accounting standards also helpful).
- Experience with cloud-based environmental data management / carbon accounting software and tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting and presentation using Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Access and/or Power BI is desirable.
- Conduct research on latest international policy and/or technology development in the area of decarbonization, circularity, net zero pathway, etc.

- High proficiency in English and Mandarin.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in relevant field.
- Certifications in sustainability (i.e. ISO 14001/14064/50001, GRI, LEED, Environmental Impact Assessment, Life Cycle Analysis) and/or energy manager programme.
- Familiar with supply chain decarbonization and/or risk management framework related to environment & social impact assessment, biodiversity or physical climate hazards.
