Senior Environment Consultant

Job Description

NIRAS is seeking a self-motivated individual to join their Environmental team in the Philippines, focusing on Offshore Wind and renewable energy projects. The candidate should have over eight years of experience in the environmental sector, particularly in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (ECC) and other related environmental consents. This position will be based in Manila, reporting to the Offshore Wind hub in Taipei and collaborating with teams in the UK and Denmark.

Role and Responsibility:

• Leading Environmental and/or consenting projects
• Project management of environmental projects
• Authoring and quality assurance of technical reports in English and/or Tagalog
• Quality Assurance and management of suppliers
• Stakeholder and client engagement
• Managing financials and project delivery within budget
• Collaborating with environmental experts in NIRAS (Scandinavia, UK, Taiwan)
• Key account management and marketing to existing and potential clients

Requirement:

• Master’s in Environmental Science or equivalent
• At least 10 years of experience in Environmental Impact Assessment or similar disciplines
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Proven project leadership or team leadership skills
• Proven project management skills
• Background in Forestry, Stakeholder Engagement, Wildlife Biology, or Marine Biology
• Experience with GIS
• Ability to work in international teams across different disciplines
• Ability to function in a complex and fast-moving environment
• Good command of English
• Willingness to travel within the Philippines

Following are considered a plus:

• Experience with EIA/ESIA in renewable energy projects
• Experience with EIA/ESIA for Donor Projects
• Experience in energy-related projects in the Overseas Donor market
• Knowledge of ArcGIS or QGIS
• Fluency in another Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Vietnamese)
• Overseas work or study experience
