Job Description

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a 15-month talent development programme aimed at preparing skilled personnel for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry. Supported by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and the Workforce Advancement Federation (WAF), this program focuses on delivering proactive Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) programs that comply with laws and standards, ensuring excellent SHE performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of environmental site and corporate SHE programs.
  • Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste management and liaise with waste disposal contractors.
  • Prepare compliance documentation, including waste reporting and manifest submissions.
  • Understand and assess compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to minimize environmental risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Report and investigate environmental incidents and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local guidelines and corporate SHE management systems.
  • Participate in the Workplace Safety & Health Committee and support safety performance awards.
  • Coordinate internal and external SHE audits and prepare the site for audits.
  • Maintain the site’s JSA/Risk Assessment registry and ensure proper SHE training for staff.
  • Promote SHE awareness on-site through visual aids and promotional materials.
  • Comply with safety requirements and report accidents or hazards promptly.
  • Observe site security measures and report any security concerns.
  • Embrace continuous improvement and apply lean production system tools.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Non-Degree/Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience for degree holders or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
  • Experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
  • Interest in sustainability and safety issues.

Skills

  • Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, facility operations, and emergency response in chemical, medical, and fire areas.
  • Able to respond to after-hours emergencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and timelines, including service contractors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal customers and service providers.
