Programme Director (Multi Energy Systems and Future Grids)

Job Description

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is seeking applications for the position of Programme Director. The PD will lead an interdisciplinary research program focused on Multi Energy Systems and Future Grids, aimed at advancing digital grids, microgrids, and their interconnections to facilitate the transition to net zero. The Programme Director will assist the Executive Director in scientific and technical matters related to future grid solutions and will support or lead various activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in or lead research and development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative grid solutions.
• Identify strategic R&D focus and lead technical roadmap development and technology assessments for grid solutions.
• Facilitate research joint development agreements with industry or university partners.
• Serve as a Project Principal Investigator to ensure projects meet scientific and technical targets.
• Provide scientific and technical leadership and mentorship to research group members, managing relationships with stakeholders.
• Advise the research team on grant proposals, intellectual property filings, presentations, and publications.

Job Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences preferred.
• More than 10 years of relevant experience with a strong research track record in fields related to ERI@N is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership in R&D in energy research, with a strong publication or intellectual property track record.
• Effective communication skills with a range of individuals and professional groups; ability to motivate and mentor team members.
• Industrial experience in research or technical leadership capacities or through collaborations with industry projects.
• Able to work in and lead interdisciplinary teams with a diverse range of competencies.
