Job Description

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is inviting applications for the position of Programme Director who will lead an interdisciplinary research programme focused on Hydrogen Solutions to support the development of a future hydrogen economy. The Programme Director will assist the Executive Director in scientific and technical matters regarding hydrogen solutions and will be responsible for various research and development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in the research, development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative hydrogen solutions.
  • Identify strategic R&D focuses and develop technical roadmaps and technology assessments for hydrogen solutions.
  • Facilitate research joint development agreements with industry or university partners.
  • Serve as a Project Principal Investigator (P.I.) to ensure project execution meets scientific and technical targets.
  • Provide scientific and technical leadership, mentorship, and manage relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and NTU management.
  • Advise the research team on grant proposals, intellectual property filings, presentations, and publication of research findings.

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience with a strong research track record in fields pertinent to ERI@N.
  • Demonstrated leadership in R&D in energy research with a significant publication and intellectual property record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and motivate team members, with experience in mentorship and team building.
  • Preferred industrial experience through work in research or technical leadership roles or collaboration on industry projects with deployment-based validation.
  • Ability to work in and lead interdisciplinary teams with diverse competencies.
