Job Description
The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is seeking a Programme Director to lead an interdisciplinary research programme focused on Energy Storage Systems aimed at facilitating a low carbon economy. The Programme Director will assist the Executive Director with scientific and technical matters related to technology roadmaps and coordination among various interdisciplinary research domains. Responsibilities include supporting and/or leading research activities, developing strategic R&D focus, facilitating research collaborations, and providing leadership and mentorship to research groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in or lead research, build roadmaps, and develop business cases on technology, business, political, and societal aspects related to Energy, Sustainability, and Decarbonisation.
- Identify strategic R&D focus, lead technical roadmaps development, and ensure alignment with other interdisciplinary research domains.
- Facilitate and support joint development agreements such as Joint Industry Programs and Research Collaboration Agreements with industry or university partners.
- Lead a work package or act as Project Principal Investigator to ensure projects meet scientific and technical targets.
- Provide scientific and technical leadership and mentorship, managing relationships with stakeholders including government agencies, research partners, and NTU Management.
- Advise research teams on grant proposals, intellectual property filings, presentations, and publishing research findings.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences preferred.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience with a strong research track record in fields pertinent to ERI@N.
- Demonstrated leadership in R&D in energy research, with a strong publication and intellectual property record.
- Effective communication skills to engage a diverse range of individuals and professional groups.
- Preferred industrial experience in research or technical leadership roles, with deployment-based project validation.
- Able to work in and lead diverse interdisciplinary teams.
