Job Description

The Operational Excellence & Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a LEAN & 6σ culture at the Rayong operations site, alongside creating a Sustainability Framework that aligns with the company’s vision. The role focuses on driving efficiencies and enhancing interconnectivity across digital transformation initiatives while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement.

This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders in operations to ensure effective implementation and to drive year-over-year improvements in critical business metrics for market competitiveness. Key responsibilities include defining the local LEAN/six sigma culture, leading improvement projects, developing metrics, managing project plans, and training staff in Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities Include

  • Define the framework for Momentive’s LEAN/six sigma culture locally.
  • Lead and mentor improvement projects in Lean and DMAIC.
  • Act as a spokesperson for LEAN/six sigma culture and continuous improvement.
  • Develop project scopes, objectives, and metrics.
  • Manage project development and selection, including financial evaluations and reporting systems.
  • Own strategy development for manufacturing in Rayong.
  • Utilize global Continuous Improvement tools to implement impactful projects.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement using lean tools and behaviors.
  • Conduct training to support the business training plan.
  • Develop methodologies to improve operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Facilitate improvement plans for competitive advantage.
  • Share best practices and ensure process consistency across sites.
  • Work with process owners to turn functional goals into Lean strategies/projects.
  • Coach LEAN Practitioners and Champions.
  • Stay updated on external best practices to innovate within the company.
  • Ensure sustainability programs align with local requirements.
  • Implement ethical, sustainable, and environmental responsibility policies.
  • Embed operational excellence improvements into operational systems.

Qualifications

The following are required for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Chemistry.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in project management or Lean operations.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to drive cultural transformation.
  • Strong communication ability in a diverse matrix environment.
  • Innovative and creative thinking.
  • Experience in motivating diverse teams.
  • Proven coaching and training experience.
  • Successful Continuous Improvement track record.
  • PMI or Green Belt certification.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Expertise in Lean methods, ideally with a black belt certification.
  • High energy and eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Strong commitment to delivering sustainable performance.
  • Experience leading cultural transformations.
