Responsibilities include managing social performance, ensuring compliance, and enhancing sustainability practices across the organization.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Social performance
- Project management on human rights due diligence and traceability projects.
- Research and recommend compliance and sustainability best practices within the industry/region.
- Build effective relationships with in-country office teams to drive improvements at partner factories.
- Manage service providers related to due diligence and traceability work.
Social impact
- Ensure WSI meets its worker wellbeing goals by 2030.
- Collaborate with Director/Manager Sustainability to develop Social Impact strategies and share updates on progress.
- Manage relationships with Social Impact nonprofit partners.
- Work closely with in-country Sustainability Managers to implement Social Impact initiatives.
- Oversee communication and updates of Social Impact initiatives across all WSI brands.
- Research and pilot new programmatic opportunities.
Communication and engagement
- Represent WSI in multi-stakeholder groups and external engagements.
- Escalate potential crisis situations to management when necessary.
- Manage regular reporting requirements as directed by management.

Competencies & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Social Studies, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in social responsibility (audit firm or retailer).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Adept at understanding challenges and developing responses.
- Ability to work independently and in diverse groups.
- Networking, influencing, and resource utilization skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Proven project/team leadership experience.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
