Lead/Senior Scientist position at the Clean Energy Research Centre within the School of Engineering. The role involves generating research proposals, leading renewable energy initiatives, managing projects, and driving innovation in sustainable energy technologies.

What You Will Be Working On

• Generate Research Ideas and Proposals: Develop proposals aligned with the center’s strategic direction and industry needs, securing funding from government and industry partners.
• Lead Research Initiatives: Focus on areas such as PEM fuel cells, electrolyzers, and batteries, emphasizing material development like electrocatalysts and membrane-electrode assemblies.
• Technical Contributions: Provide expertise and lead research in PEM fuel cells, H2 generation, and batteries.
• Project Management: Oversee various R&D projects, ensuring timely completion and goal attainment.
• Drive Innovation: Foster advancements in battery and fuel cell technology, contributing to publications and patents, while promoting collaboration globally.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualification in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in fuel cell and electrocatalyst research and development, or in fuel cell/battery system design.
• Proven experience in building and leading research teams, mentoring engineers, and promoting collaboration.
• Strong hands-on skills in early prototype development in relevant areas.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present research findings and updates to stakeholders.
• A strong publication record in sustainable energy research.
• Demonstrated innovation in securing intellectual property, evidenced by patent applications and licenses.
