Job Description

As the global lead, the individual will develop and implement innovative strategies aimed at minimizing environmental impact and ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating sustainability initiatives, overseeing environmental performance, and helping business units (BUs) adopt eco-friendly practices while balancing ambition with practicality.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop Global Environmental-related Policies
  • Monitor BU quarterly performance and compliance with Environmental and Decarbonization policies.
  • Solicit, assist with, review, and interrogate BU inputs for the Annual Sustainability report and industry surveys regarding environmental management.
  • Assist BUs in drafting their own environmental policies.
  • Oversee continuous improvement and corporate alignment, including periodic reviews for GAP analyses and adjustments to policy and/or approach.
  • Collect, collate, and record BU environmental initiatives for corporate reporting.
  • Lead ongoing corporate initiatives.
  • Understand and operate in accordance with company standards.
  • Escalate critical issues to appropriate senior leadership.
  • Assist with annual sustainability reporting, including information solicitation and response review for reporting compilation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with non-native English speakers.
  • Critical thinking, risk identification, solution generation, adaptability, and decision-making skills.
  • Influencing and leadership abilities, with effective delegation skills.
  • Planning and organization skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Data collection and analysis skills.
  • Conflict management skills with both international and local personnel.

b. Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental management role within a large-scale or global organization.
  • Awareness of environmental issues, industry challenges, and solutions in an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in climate change assessment, adaptation, and mitigation through research or professional work.

c. Professional Qualification and Training:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or similar (e.g., Environmental Science), with a focus on the environment (preferably climate change).
