Siemens Mobility Thailand is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for our Project (EHSMiP).

This is your role. What part will you play?

The EHSMiP supports the Project Director in planning, supervising, monitoring and reporting of all EHS related proceedings in relation to the project. Focus of the role is to assure compliance with applicable internal and external EHS-related rules & regulations and the prevention of EHS related hazards and risks. The EHSMiP establishes the EHS plan to the extend required for the project and manage its implementation. The EHSMiP has the authority to intervene/escalate in case of significant non-conformance.

The key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Support Project Director in planning and securing milestone results. Cooperate with EHS of the project-related subsystems and other functions e.g. Quality Management.
  • Establish and communicate EHS targets and determine related KPI for the project.
  • Identify and inspect hazards and define corrective measures for their elimination. Prepare proposals for improving safety standards and observance thereof.
  • Define and issue project specific directives in collaboration with the Project Director to the project team to ensure compliance with applicable EHS related rules & regulations and customer requirements.
  • Liaise with customer/partner/ subcontractor EHS representatives.
  • Advise – and where applicable – train site personnel in EHS matters (e.g. accident prevention).
  • Conduct tool box meetings and discussions as well as plant safety walkdowns; monitor elimination of deficiencies.
  • Report EHS status, EHS incidents and root-cause-analysis to Project Director. Report of safety statistics, escalate deficiencies or non-conformances to Project Director and – if necessary – to functional reporting line.
  • Plan, conduct/participate in EHS related inspections, assessments, audits, reviews. Participate in status meetings. Ensure implementation of (improvement) measures.
  • Oversee Contractor Safety Management, encompassing the pre-qualification phase, the execution phase—which includes conducting monthly EHS performance reviews—and the post-contract evaluation.

Use Your Skills To Move The World Forward.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in technology / EHS related field of study
  • Advanced knowledge of EHS related legal environment
  • Up to date/ recent additional training, qualification in EHS related areas and eligible for registration as a Safety Officer at a professional level in accordance with legal requirements
  • Professional experience and expertise in railway transportation systems is preferable
  • Several years of work experience as EHS team leader in international projects.
  • Willing to dedicate the majority of time to on-site responsibilities
  • Proficient in English, capable of effectively working in a multinational people environment and managing English documentation.
