Job Description
NIRAS is seeking a self-motivated individual to join their Environmental team in the Philippines, focusing on Offshore Wind and renewable energy projects. The candidate should have over five years of experience in the environmental sector, specifically delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (ECC), Environmental Social Impact Assessments, or other environmental consents in the Philippines. The role involves project management, authoring and quality assurance of technical reports, managing suppliers, and engaging with stakeholders and clients. The position is based in Manila and reports to the Offshore Wind hub in Taipei, Taiwan.
Role and Responsibility:
- Project management of environmental and consenting projects
- Authoring and quality assurance of technical reports in English and/or Tagalog
- Quality Assurance and management of suppliers
- Stakeholder and client engagement
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
- 5 years of work experience in Environmental Impact Assessment or similar disciplines
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Proven project management skills
- Ability to work in international teams across different disciplines
- Ability to work in a complex and fast-moving working environment
- Good command of English
- Readiness to travel within the Philippines
Following are considered a plus:
- Experience working on EIA/ESIA in renewable energy projects
- Experience working on EIA/ESIA type projects for Donor Projects
- Experience in energy-related projects in the Overseas Donor market
- Background in Forestry, Stakeholder Engagement, Wildlife Biologist, or Marine Biologist
- Experience in using or applying GIS
- Experience working for an Engineering or Environmental Consultancy
- Command of another Asian Language at fluent level, e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, or Vietnamese
- Overseas work or studies
- Knowledgeable in project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, or MS Project
