Energy Risk and Accounting Analyst

Job Description

• Operate Hydrocarbon Management Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
• Ensure payments and receipts align with contracts.
• Verify and process Hydrocarbon invoices.
• Troubleshoot HM payment and receivable issues.
• Adhere to payment and receipt deadlines.
• Prepare manual journal entries per FCM controls.
• Reconcile accounts utilizing Blackline.
• Execute RDS/FCM controls as per role mapping.
• Implement process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Reconcile book vs. physical stocks regularly and timely for period close.
• Post final stock differences to appropriate gain/loss accounts per MoA, GSAP, and SOX 404 guidelines.
• Timely completion of stock activities and valuation programs at month end.
• Provide accurate information to stakeholders professionally.
• Ensure the team’s KPIs are met timely and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with RDS, Key Controls, and Shell Controls Framework.
• Participate in internal and external projects, managing timelines and expectations.
• Implement financial controls to mitigate reporting risks.
• Store evidence of tasks performed within the Global Records Management System.
• Explore Continuous Improvement ideas for task efficiency.

Qualifications

• A degree in Finance/Accounting, with preferred professional certification (e.g., ACCA/CIMA/CPA).
• Strong financial background and understanding of internal controls.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting-related roles; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
• Strong adherence to processes, policies, and procedures.
• Good problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and inquisitiveness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of product measurement, accounting practices, and inventory management is an advantage.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Ability to integrate business and process knowledge.
• Willingness to work across time zones when necessary.
