Director, Power & Energy, Singapore

Job Description

The role involves leading the Singapore Power and Energy Team at WSP, focusing on consulting within the power industry while navigating Singapore’s regulatory environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily operations, client support, and business growth. They will also collaborate with a Regional Power Team for business development across the region.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop WSP’s power and energy capabilities in Singapore, ensuring quality project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide value-adding solutions.
• Lead tender proposal development for power and energy projects.
• Participate in various project stages, including development and engineering of power plants.
• Understand the structure and contractual relationships of independent power projects.
• Manage the team’s operations, including recruitment and development of engineers and project managers.
• Lead by example, motivating and inspiring the team to achieve company objectives.
• Adapt management style as necessary and challenge existing practices for company benefit.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
• A minimum of 20 years of post-graduate experience.
• Proven expertise in sustainable solutions focused on renewables and energy transition.
• Experience in thermal power generation projects is advantageous.
• Track record of motivating and retaining a talented professional team.
• Strong coaching skills and commitment to developing team competencies.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
