JD Ross Energy have partnered with a leading renewable energy client to help find a Development Manager focusing on utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities;
- Lead development projects after approval of concept to handover to construction.
- Development actions may include:
o assessment of location and securing land access, securing environmental permitting and development approvals, ensuring positive community and stakeholder engagement, completing engineering design, and overseeing studies to secure grid connection approvals.
- Coordinate project technical design and technical parameters, including contractual specifications and schedules.
- Determine the optimal approval pathway, compile and submit the necessary approval documents.
- Engagement and oversight of activities of third-party advisers, including (as necessary):
o technical / owner’s engineer, environmental consultants, grid connection consultants, and to legal;
- Manage tendering processes for construction and operations partners for the project;
- Lead the commercial negotiation of key contracts.
- Develop project budgets, oversee expenditure and ensure budgets are adhered with.
- Assist in the development, review and update of project business cases, ensuring that key assumptions are updated as the project progresses.
- Prepare project reports and ensure project sponsor/steerco is well informed of changes to key assumptions and risks
- Identify opportunities to enhance value from the project and reduce project specific risks.
- Assist in the appraisal of new investment opportunities in renewable energy assets, in conjunction with the Investments Team.
- Manage the handover to construction, including compilation of all commercial records within a contract database.
- Regular travel to the development site(s).
