Assistant Underwriter, Energy and Construction

Job Description

This position involves providing essential support to the Energy, Construction & Short Tail teams. The successful candidate will collaborate with various functions, including Underwriting Support Services, Credit Control, Finance, Claims, Actuarial, and Risk & Compliance, ensuring efficient coordination across departments. Responsibilities include monitoring data entry accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Track and log new business submissions
• Monitor renewal status
• Ensure data accuracy in internal pricing tools and reporting systems
• Review slips and contract wordings
• Maintain post-bind accuracy and digital underwriting files
• Ensure compliance with sanctions, contract certainty, and ESG framework
• Work with credit control to resolve payment discrepancies and ensure prompt payment
• Support the Energy & Construction Team with risk analysis and reporting

Skills and Experience

• University graduate with a minimum of 3 years in Financial Services
• Proficient in problem-solving and quantitative skills; advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to delivering high-quality output within specified timelines
